Report: “Japan's War, Questioned by Asia” Exhibition Announcement:Solo Exhibition at the Ueno Royal Museum, Tokyo on March 2020

We just finished the exhibition “Japan’s War Questioned by Asia” on Tuesday, September 22, 2020. As the name implies, the exhibition is made up of citizens who feel threatened by the current situation where the facts of past wartime aggressions are being erased and forgotten. The cost of the exhibition is paid for entirely by donations from citizens. Originally scheduled to be held on May 4 (Monday) and 5 (Tuesday) with 28 groups, the exhibition was postponed due to the spread of the new corona virus. The scale of the exhibition was reduced (from 28 groups to 13 groups) and the workshop by the “Calligraphic Salon” that was scheduled to be held during the exhibition was cancelled due to concerns about “close-contact settings”. However, thanks to our thorough new corona virus countermeasure program, we had about 400 visitors to the exhibition, and we received a variety of comments such as “It’s good to know what I didn’t know,” and “I hope the exhibition can continue to be held in the future.” We are relieved that we were able to finish the exhibition without any cases of new corona virus infection.
This exhibition is scheduled to be held again in May next year.

In 2020, due to the spread of the new coronavirus, many events were cancelled and we had to choose to give up on a lot of things.
We also cancelled our group exhibition, a workshop for public school teachers in six neighboring cities and one county that has been going on for 20 years, and the international exchange “Satoyama Club” training sessions. We also gave up on the “Calligraphy Salon” exhibition in Jinai-cho. Most regrettably, the solo exhibition at the Ueno Royal Museum, which was scheduled for the 10th year of Fukushima, has been postponed for one year. The Solo exhibition is now officially scheduled as follows.
